IBRC- International Braille Research Center - Founded in 1994, the International Braille Research Center is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization whose survival is dependent upon contributions, grants and contracts. Its mission is to encourage and promote the teaching and use of braille.

Unified English Braille Code (UEBC) Research Project - The UEBC project was initiated in 1992 by the Braille Authority of North America, whose standards are followed by the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. The original intent was to explore the possibility of bringing together three of the official braille codes that are used for braille in those countries for various purposes, viz.: literary material (English Braille, American Edition), mathematics and scientific notation (Nemeth Code), and computer notation (Computer Braille Code).

Braille Authority of North America (BANA) - The mission of the Braille Authority of North America (BANA) is to assure literacy for tactile readers through the standardization of braille and/or tactile graphics. BANA's purpose is to promote and to facilitate the uses, teaching and production of braille. It publishes rules, interprets and renders opinions pertaining to braille in all existing and future codes.

Braille Authority of the United Kingdom (BAUK)

Braille Institute of America - For 90 years, Braille Institute of America has worked to eliminate barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and severe sight loss. Private contributions and more than 3,600 skilled volunteers allow us to offer classes, training and a wide variety of other services and activities free of charge. We serve Central and Southern California through five regional centers, and our Mobile Solutions van brings help and hope to people in outlying areas.
